Olive oil is an important cooking oil in countries surrounding the Mediterranean. Choosing a cold-pressed olive oil can be similar to selecting a unique wine. When the sun shines through the bottles the olive oil has many jewellike colors. For this painting I have placed the bottles in the light what we actually should not do with the extra vergine oil, we should keep it in shade.
From Basel, Switzerland. In my artwork (watercolor and mixed media) I do focus on the extraordinary light and atmosphere that we find in nature, landscapes and alpine scenes. To capture this mood in my pictures is my challenge and passion. My Watercolor Paintings are done primarily in negative painting technique that means carving out shapes from the underpainting by painting around objects instead of painting them directly. I love to paint in a loose, expressionist, impressionist or semi-abstract way. I never try to copy the perfection of nature! I rather chose a loose approach with creative colors, unusual composition and with passionate brushstrokes.
