As children we have collected the chestnuts and used them for handicraft work. If we reproduce flowers and fruits in a realistic way we will always loose against natures perfection. I have chosen a semi abstract, expressionistic approach. Most of my watercolor paintings are done in negative painting technique that means carving out shapes by surrounding them instead of painting them directly.

From Basel, Switzerland. In my artwork (watercolor and mixed media) I do focus on the extraordinary light and atmosphere that we find in nature, landscapes and alpine scenes. To capture this mood in my pictures is my challenge and passion. My Watercolor Paintings are done primarily in negative painting technique that means carving out shapes from the underpainting by painting around objects instead of painting them directly. I love to paint in a loose, expressionist, impressionist or semi-abstract way. I never try to copy the perfection of nature! I rather chose a loose approach with creative colors, unusual composition and with passionate brushstrokes.
