Artist's Description
Dandelion is a multi-purpose herb. All parts of it are useful. From early spring, when the new leaves are steamed and eaten as a potherb, through the summer, the leaves and blossoms are harvested. In the fall, the roots are pulled after a frost. Even the white, milky sap is used as an effective wart remover.
Cooperation in art – is this possible? Together with my artist friend Regina Panizzon we have worked on this experiment in 4 steps. I have done the sketch on paper and put the first layer of the underpainting. Regina has taken over by carving out shapes of leaves in negative painting technique. Third step was my fine definition and finish of the dandelion flowers. 4th step was Reginas finish by adding more darks in the background and carving out some additional stems. It was a lot of fun with a high demand for the acceptance and appreciation of the partners artistic interpretation. A good lesson in empathy and understanding!

About Sabina Von Arx and Regina Panizzon
From Basel, Switzerland. In my artwork (watercolor and mixed media) I do focus on the extraordinary light and atmosphere that we find in nature, landscapes and alpine scenes. To capture this mood in my pictures is my challenge and passion. My Watercolor Paintings are done primarily in negative painting technique that means carving out shapes from the underpainting by painting around objects instead of painting them directly. I love to paint in a loose, expressionist, impressionist or semi-abstract way. I never try to copy the perfection of nature! I rather chose a loose approach with creative colors, unusual composition and with passionate brushstrokes.
